My final project for my 3D modeling class was to create a structure inspired by Hayao Miyazaki's film "Howl's Moving Castle." As the picture might suggest, we were encouraged to work with organic references, whether they be plants, animals, fungi, etc. The name is obviously a play on the swan, my chosen animal, and the name of one of the island of Santorini in the Aegean Sea. I have never been there, but from what I have seen and heard about it, the island seems like on of those places that boast beauty so surreal that you'd think you'd find it on another planet. And also a fantastic place to have a honeymoon.
